Workshop Info
What is a workshop
The first weekend of every month is Workshop Weekend, where each market day will feature four spaces in the centre of the market for stallholders to host a workshop. Workshops are stall spaces with provided tables and chairs for market customers to come and learn about your craft, as well as to try their hand in that craft.
There will be four hour-long time slots, one for each workshop. During their assigned time, the stallholder may teach a class in a particular craft. Before and after the class, the tables will still be available for customers to continue crafting.
*Workshop spaces do not replace your original market stall.
The workshop table will be at the front of your space and your stall at the back.
Workshop hosts are expected to set up their stalls per usual
Why you should host a workshop
Hosting a workshop is a fantastic way to drum up interest in your craft, as well as make a little extra money throughout the day. Having people near your stall will attract the attention of passers-by to watch the workshop take place.
How to book a workshop
There is a Workshop Days category in the Book A Stall page that features the days where workshops are available. On these days, a special "Workshop" option will be available when you book a stall. When you book a workshop, you may write your time slot preference in the notes box upon checkout. We will do our best to accommodate your preference.
Promoting your workshop
Stallholders with workshops need to organise their own classes. How much money students are charged is completely up to the stallholder. Please note that the number of students a workshop table can comfortably accommodate is 6-10 depending on which table is assigned to you.
We highly recommend creating a Facebook page for your workshop event in order to get people to sign up for your classes in advance. It is up to the workshop host to promote the event.
Send your facebook page link to us at [email protected] or through the contact page and we will share it on our public Facebook page.
We also recommend purchasing our Social Media Promotion for your workshop to get a full feature post on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
